Born into a small family in an enormous city and raised by non-conventional women, who avoided antiquated paradigms of Mexican culture and promoted imagination. Since childhood he has been an admirer of world cultures, which developed in him a strong sense of collectivity and respect for humanity and nature. Zeus wanted to be an ethnographer, but decided to study engineering as a mean to provide economic support to his family. Later he worked for two companies in the energy sector. He became engaged with renewable energy, which led him to pursue a Master’s degree abroad. His Dutch experience was both tough and enlightening and served to shift his professional plans. Currently, he is passionate about poverty eradication. His PhD research at the MIT Portugal program represents a first phase of a lifetime project which aims to help improve living conditions of indigenous communities Admission to Singularity University made him realize that he could have a wider impact than he envisaged.
